Quick checks for your connection, passwords, email security, public IP, files and networks. Some tools run entirely in your browser; where a third-party service is used, we tell you.
This is the first toolbox prototype. We can keep adding genuinely useful utilities over time.
Quick Internet Speed Test
Measures latency, download and upload between your browser and The IT People’s test endpoint. Server distance and browser conditions affect results, so treat this as a quick practical check rather than a laboratory benchmark.
—Latency ms
—Download Mbps
—Upload Mbps
Ready.
Uses a bounded same-origin test endpoint. Test data is disposable and is not stored.
What Is My Public IP?
Shows the public IP address your browser is currently using.
Not checked yet.
The lookup uses api.ipify.org. Your browser contacts that service directly.
Password Exposure Check
Checks whether a password appears in the Pwned Passwords corpus without sending the password itself. Your browser SHA-1 hashes it locally and sends only the first five hash characters.
Nothing leaves your browser except a 5-character hash prefix.
Uses Have I Been Pwned’s Pwned Passwords k-anonymity range API. We do not receive or store the password.
Password / Passphrase Generator
Create a strong random password locally in your browser.
Generated locally using cryptographic random values.
Domain Email Security Check
Checks public DNS for MX, SPF and DMARC. It also flags common Microsoft 365 MX patterns. DKIM requires knowing the selector, so that comes later.
Enter a domain.
Uses Google Public DNS-over-HTTPS from your browser. Only the domain name is queried.
File SHA-256 Generator
Select a file and calculate its SHA-256 hash entirely inside your browser. The file is not uploaded.
No file selected.
Local Web Crypto only. The selected file never leaves your device.
IPv4 Subnet Helper
Quickly calculate network address, broadcast and usable host range from an IPv4 CIDR.
Enter an IPv4 CIDR.
Password Strength Meter
A simple local heuristic that estimates entropy from password length and character variety. It is not a guarantee of safety.
Start typing.
NEXT TOOLS
What we can add next.
These are the obvious next traffic magnets, but we will only turn them on when the implementation and licensing/privacy model is right.
NEXT
Email / Dark Web Breach Scan
Search an email against known breach data using a properly licensed API. We will not fake this or expose an API key in the browser.
NEXT
SSL / Website Security Check
Certificate expiry, TLS basics and common security headers with a plain-English score.
NEXT
Microsoft 365 Domain Readiness
Public DNS and configuration clues for organisations preparing for or already using Microsoft 365.
IDEA
QR Code Generator
Private browser-side QR generation for URLs, Wi-Fi details and plain text.
IDEA
DNS Lookup Suite
A, AAAA, MX, TXT, CNAME, NS and reverse lookup in one clean interface.
IDEA
Port / Reachability Check
Safe, limited checks for common web service reachability — not an open-ended internet scanner.
